Library to Host Discover Exoplanets: The Search for Alien Worlds

Safford – The Safford City-Graham County Library is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibition, Discover Exoplanets: The Search for Alien Worlds. Thisinteractive, all-ages exhibition explores the fascinating world of space science and astronomy. Discover Exoplanets covers topics such as the search for habitable worlds beyond our Solar System, how NASA scientists are searching for these worlds, and how they may be like our own.

Discover Exoplanets strives to make science fun with hands-on, multimedia activities. The Safford Library will also be offering a related series of public events to bring STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) programming to children, teens and adults in our community. An open house celebrating the exhibit will be held on Thursday, September 25th from 4pm-6pm. Community members of all ages are invited to attend. The exhibit will be on display Monday-Thursday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. through Nov. 20.

The Safford Library is proud to be selected as one of ten sites nationwide to host Discover Exoplanets. This exhibition was developed by the Space Science Institute’s National Center for Interactive Learning (NCIL) in partnership with NASA’s Universe of Learning. This project was made possible through support from NASA, under cooperative agreement number NNX16AC65A.
