10th Annual Coty Denogean Memorial Suicide Awareness Walk Set for November 21st in Morenci

The 10th annual Coty Denogean Memorial Suicide Awareness Walk is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 21, 2026, beginning at 9 a.m. in Morenci.

MORENCI — The community is coming together once again to foster open conversations, remember those lost, and support suicide prevention efforts during the upcoming 10th annual Coty Denogean Memorial Suicide Awareness Walk.

The milestone event is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 21, 2026, beginning at 9 a.m. in Morenci at the Morenci High School football field. There will be a balloon release, and free T-shirts are available while supplies last. Pre-register by emailing cdsainc24@gmail.com.

Organized by family and community members, the annual walk honors the memory of Coty Denogean, who, at the age of 17, tragically took his own life without warning or hesitation. In the decade since, the gathering has grown steadily in both volunteers and attendees, serving as a vital platform to raise awareness, break down social stigmas, and remind individuals that help and support are available.

Supporting Prevention and Education

Funds raised through the event—including a popular 50/50 raffle and prize raffles—directly support Greenlee County scholarships and educational materials dedicated to suicide prevention. Organizers emphasize the powerful impact of bringing these critical discussions directly to the community and local high school students.
