GED Community Graduation

SAFFORD – The Safford City–Graham County Library’s Adult Education Program is excited to announce a GED Community Graduation on Wednesday, June 25, at 5:30 p.m. in the Library Program Room at 808 S. 7th Avenue in Safford. This ceremony is to recognize all past and recent GED test graduates. All community members who have passed one or more of the five GED tests required and their families are invited to attend the celebration.

RSVPs are required for ceremony preparations, including caps and gowns and a graduate slide show. Please email kapodaca@saffordaz.gov to RSVP or stop by the library to sign up by May 15. A special thank you to our local Safeway store for providing refreshments for the ceremony.

Additionally, the library is requesting caps and gowns that can be lent or donated for this celebration. Please drop caps and/or gowns at the library during open hours, Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. The library is also seeking local GED graduates who would like to share positive inspiration via video with our graduates. The Adult Education Program coordinates GED preparation for Graham and Greenlee County students. More than 30 students have enrolled in the program since it became locally supported by the United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties and the City of Safford in September 2024. With an in-house teacher, Kristi Apodaca, available to provide resources and one-on-one instruction, students can prepare for their GED tests in various ways.
