PIMA – The time-honored Thanksgiving Day tradition that is the 14th annual Pima Turkey Trot is nearly here. Now is the time to register for the race before the price increases.

Click here to register for the Pima Turkey Trot and help make 2019 a record-breaking year for attendance. Last year, 862 total participants signed up for the Trot, and a new event record was set by overall first-place finisher Michael Barney, of Scottsdale, in 16:24:09 for an average of 5:17 per mile on the 5K course.

The event is a fundraiser held at the Vard Lines Roping Arena in Pima on Thanksgiving morning and includes a 1-mile fun run and the traditional 5K race. All proceeds are donated to Pima Schools. Last year, proceeds were allocated for softball equipment and other projects in the works for the school.

Registration is only $10 until the end of Tuesday, Nov. 19. After this, those interested can still register up to race day but will have to pay $15. There is an additional processing fee and fees are per transaction, not per runner. Online registration will close on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 11:59 p.m.

So, click here and register the whole family all at once. Who knows, maybe you’ll be the lucky family with the most participants who will take home the prized “family turkey”.
