SAFFORD – Grab your spouse and children (if you’ve got them) and head to Downtown Safford this weekend for family-friendly entertainment and fun at the 12th annual SalsaFest.
The event opens Friday at 5 p.m. with a welcome to the public and will feature the marketplace, beer garden, Kidz Korner sidewalk art on Main street, and music by Mariachi Luz de Luna (5:15 p.m. SalsaFest Stage) and Heart & Soul (7:30 p.m. SalsaFest Stage).
The fun starts early Saturday morning with the marketplace opening at 8 a.m. and the popular Chihuahua races and Hot Cars on the Salsa Trail contest beginning at 9 a.m.
The rest of the day is chock-full of entertainment as well as the Salsa Challenge contest for best salsa by the general public and local restaurants, as well as the popular salsa- and chile pepper- eating contests.
So be sure to stop on by Downtown Safford on Friday and Saturday and experience the Americana of SalsaFest for yourselves.
