Woman drowns in swimming pool at Safford Ranch Mobile Home Village

GRAHAM COUNTY – An 85-year-old woman drowned in the swimming pool of the Safford Ranch Mobile Home Village on Thursday. 

Anna Campbell was found in the pool at about 6:40 p.m., according to Graham County Dispatch notes. 

Lifesaving efforts, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), were not fruitful and Campbell was declared deceased at the scene.

Safford Ranch Mobile Home Village is an age-restricted 55+ senior community located at 3201 E. U.S. Highway 70, just west of Solomon.  

The incident is under investigation by the Graham County Sheriff’s Office. While there is nothing suspicious about the death at this point, according to Graham County Undersheriff Jeff McCormies, an autopsy with the Pima County Office of Medical Examiner has been scheduled.
