Thatcher, Ariz.— Eastern Arizona College (EA) will host its ninth annual Unity in the Community event on Tuesday, March 31, at 11 a.m. in the Activities Center Lee Little Theater. The event is free and open to all EA students, faculty, and staff.

A longstanding campus tradition, Unity in the Community brings together students, faculty, and staff for a morning focused on connection, inspiration, and school pride. The event highlights personal stories of resilience, growth, and determination, encouraging attendees to reflect on their own potential and shared community values.

This year’s program features two impactful speakers. Jordan Rose, EA’s 2026 Research Essay Contest winner, will open the event with a message centered on resilience and personal growth. Her story offers a powerful reminder of the strength individuals carry, particularly in challenging times.

The keynote address will be delivered by Staff Sgt. Victor L. Norris, USMC (Ret.), will share his journey of overcoming mediocrity and pushing beyond self-imposed limits. His message emphasizes accountability, perseverance, and the pursuit of excellence.

Refreshments will be served during the event. Many faculty members offer extra credit for attendance. Instructors are encouraged to share this opportunity with their students, and students are advised to check with their instructors regarding eligibility.
