SAFFORD – Walkers and bikers traversing the western section of Safford’s multi-use path below the cemetery Thursday morning received an abrupt end. Beginning Sept. 4, a section of the multi-use Path (adjacent to 8th Avenue) near the Safford Cemetery will be closed to the north and south. This closure is expected to last 8–10 weeks.
The closure is due to the construction of the city’s sewer extension project in the area, which will be part of the city’s new Mayor Jason Kouts Park.
We appreciate your patience as we invest in this important community project. Please plan your route accordingly and stay tuned for updates as the work progresses.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
