Flood cleanup efforts continue throughout the week

GLOBE – The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following lane restrictions on U.S. Highway 60 daily from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, through Thursday, Oct. 9, as part of the pavement rehabilitation project in Globe:
- U.S. Highway 60 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction between Santee Street and U.S. Highway 70 (mileposts 250-252) for curb and gutter work.
- Shifting east- and westbound lane restrictions at bridge decks between Santee Street and U.S. Highway 70 (mileposts 250-252) for bridge repair work.
- The restrictions are scheduled to be in place for approximately 2 weeks.
- Drivers should follow posted traffic control devices and signage when entering the shifted lanes.
Reminder: The South Street exit onto U.S. Highway 60 will remain closed for curb access ramp and gutter work.
- Drivers may use the posted detours to Seventh Street to access U.S. Highway 60.
- Traffic entering South Street from U.S. Highway 60 will remain open.
ADOT continues to clear mud and debris from U.S. Highway 60 due to recent flooding in the Miami-Globe area. ADOT advises drivers to expect delays and the following lane restrictions for the cleanup efforts:
- East- and westbound lane restrictions on U.S. Highway 60 between Miami (milepost 243) and U.S. Highway 70 (milepost 252) daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, through Thursday, Oct. 9, or as necessary.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph in the work zone.
Drivers should allow extra travel time, use caution, be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.
