DUNCAN – The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following lane restrictions on U.S. Highway 70 in Duncan for roadway improvements:

  • U.S. Highway 70 will continue to be narrowed to one lane in each direction with alternating east- and westbound travel between mileposts 366 and 385 daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday through July.
    • Flaggers and a pilot car will direct drivers through the work zone.
    • Crews will work from 6 a.m. to noon on Thursday, July 3, and there will be no restrictions in place on Friday, July 4, for Independence Day.

Drivers can also expect temporary driveway restrictions along U.S. Highway 70 while crews apply the micro seal to the roadway through July 3.

  • The micro seal will require a 40-minute to an hour closure at driveways and other access points to allow the application to cure.
  • There will be two separate applications of the micro seal, and the work will be done in 2-mile increments.

Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors.

Motorists should allow extra travel time, use caution, be prepared to slow down, and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.
