SUPERIOR – The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following lane restrictions on U.S. Highway 60 between Superior and Miami during daylight hours on Tuesday, June 11, and Thursday, June 13, for construction activities related to the US 60, Queen Creek and Waterfall Canyon Bridges replacement project:

  • U.S. Highway 60 between Superior and Miami, mileposts 227-231, will be intermittently reduced to one lane with alternating east- and westbound travel.
    • Flaggers and a pilot car will assist drivers through the work zone.
    • Drivers should be prepared to stop when approaching and proceeding through the flagging operation.
    • Expect delays of up to 15 minutes.

Motorists should plan for lane restrictions, speed reductions, and a 12-foot vehicle width restriction to be in place for the duration of the project. Oversize loads may be accommodated with advance notice.

Full closures of U.S. Highway 60, when required, will occur from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays through November.

Drivers should allow extra travel time and be prepared to slow down, use caution, and merge safely when approaching and traveling through highway work zones.
