THATCHER/SAFFORD – The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following lane restrictions on U.S. Highway 70, between Reay Lane (milepost 335.6) and Eighth Street (milepost 340), beginning Monday, Oct. 6, as a new pavement rehabilitation project gets underway in Thatcher and Safford:
- Eastbound curb lane restrictions on U.S. Highway 70 between mileposts 335.6 and 340 daily from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday as crews begin ADA ramp work.
- Motorists should plan for rolling lane restrictions as crews work in multiple sections each day and move through the project area.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph in the work zone.
Drivers should allow extra travel time, use caution, be prepared to slow down, and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.
Schedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
