Passing lane project on U.S. 70 east of Peridot scheduled to begin Nov. 3

Plan for daytime lane restrictions between mileposts 274 and 276

PERIDOT – The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for lane restrictions on U.S. Highway 70, approximately 3 miles east of Peridot, as part of a new passing lane project in Graham County.

The following lane restrictions are scheduled daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, Nov. 3, through summer 2026:

  • East- and westbound lane restrictions on U.S. Highway 70 between mileposts 274 and 276
  • Intermittent flagging operations to direct drivers through the work zone
  • A 55 mph speed limit

Drivers should allow extra travel time, use caution, be prepared to slow down, and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.

Schedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
