Gary Rasmussen passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, October 24, surrounded by his loving family. He was an incredible man — a teacher, friend, husband, and father — who deeply cherished his community, his garden, and most of all, his family.
Gary is survived by: his wife of 46 years, Sue Rasmussen; his three daughters, Beth Motes (Eric), Amy Rasmussen Montiel (Arnold Montiel Jr.), and Denise; and four grandchildren, Robyn Motes, Matthew, Addison, and Aria, who were the light of his life. His warmth, wisdom, and kindness touched all who knew him.
A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be conducted Saturday afternoon, November 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Vining Funeral Home’s “Chapel of the Valley” in Safford. All who knew Gary are welcome to join us in honoring his memory.
