Dave E. Hawkins, 86, of Eden, passed away at his home April 14, 2019, in Eden, surrounded by his loving children. He was born Nov. 6, 1932, in Eden, to David Elijah Hawkins and Lula Pearl Colvin Hawkins, with siblings Doug, Bill, Margie, Dan (twin to Dave) and Loretta Hawkins.
Dave grew up in Eden and on Jan. 24, 1956, he married Myrna Jean Spritzer in Pima, and from this union, seven children were born; Randy, Rhonda, Shelly, Raylene, Darren, Becki, and Richard.
Dave worked as a truck driver (Doggy Bow Wow) for most of his life. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Dave was known for being a man of all trades. He loved fixing things, collecting things, and selling things. Dave was known as a good man, a good father, and a great friend. He told it like it was and never apologized for speaking his mind. Dave was a man full of love, especially for his family.
He is survived by his children and their spouses; Randy and Rhonda Hawkins, Rhonda and Jon Norton, Shelly and Morgan Cook, Raylene Hawkins, Darren Hawkins, Becki Hawkins, Richard, and Mickey Hawkins. Dave has 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, April 17, at 10 a.m. at Eden Cemetery, in Eden
