No lane restrictions planned on U.S. Highway 70 in Thatcher Nov. 24-28

However, beginning Monday, Dec. 1, rescrtictions will resume for the construction of a new pavement rehabilitation project in Thatcher and Safford.

THATCHER – The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers there will be no lane restrictions on U.S. Highway 70, between Reay Lane and Eighth Street (mileposts 335.6-340), from Nov. 24-28.

Eastbound U.S. Highway 70 right lane restrictions between mileposts 335.6 and 340, scheduled daily from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., will resume Monday, Dec. 1, as crews continue ADA ramp work.

  • Motorists should plan for rolling lane restrictions as crews work in multiple sections each day throughout the project area.
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph in the work zone.

Drivers should allow extra travel time, use caution, be prepared to slow down, and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.

Schedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
