SAFFORD – Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center Cancer Center (MGRMC) patients are served by a visiting oncology group from Tucson. Nationwide, there are trends of oncology merging and acquisitions of oncology practices happening. This week, Arizona Blood and Cancer (ABC) notified MGRMC and patients that they will no longer visit Safford beginning June 1. The change is due to a shortage of oncologists to meet the needs of their primary market of Tucson. We are continuing referrals for service to ABC until we switch to another oncology group.
MGRMC is committed to maintaining and growing oncology services and is working diligently to contract with another oncology group of providers to serve our patients. As more details are known, they will be shared with you. We are committed to you and will keep you informed of the changes. If you have any questions, please call our community relations team at 928-348-3777. Information and updates may also be found at www.mtgraham.org/update.
