Justin “The Highlight Gaethje” to serve as Safford’s Grand Marshal in the 4th of July Parade

SAFFORD – The city of Safford in partnership with the Safford Lions Club is hosting this year’s 4th of July Parade on Thursday, July 4, 2024, starting at 9 a.m. held along Downtown Main Street from 8th Avenue to 2nd Avenue.

The parade’s theme this year is “Stars & Stripes Forever,” with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) professional mixed martial arts fighter and son of Safford, Justin “The Highlight” Gaethje as the parade’s Grand Marshal.  

The city of Safford is also hosting a 4th of July Celebration open to the public immediately following the parade on the City Hall Lawn from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be music, food vendors, and a host of fun activities including a Potato Sack Race, a Patriotic Costume Contest, a Watermelon Rolling Race, and award prizes recognizing the top contestants.
