PIMA – The inaugural Freedom Run 5K Walk/Run will be held on July 4 in memory of Landon and Torrie Baldwin, with proceeds benefiting their children.

Landon and Torrie died June 8 in a plane crash off the coast of San Diego that also took the lives of Thatcher resident Jeremy Bingham and his adult sons, Bailey, Gavin, and Ayden.

Torrie originally organized the 5K Walk/Run before her passing. The event has now become a fundraiser for her surviving children, with a registration fee of $20 per participant. The first 200 participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Donations will also be welcome.

The race starts at 6 a.m. sharp at the Pima Pool at 310 S. 100 East. Those interested in participating can register in person from 5 to 5:45 a.m. before the event. This is a cash-only registration.
