GILA COUNTY – Gila County Community Services staff and local volunteers will conduct a survey and census of local homeless individuals on Jan. 28 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, and volunteers are welcome to assist. An accurate count is particularly important this year, supporting efforts such as the Gila County Homeless Task Force with up-to-date numbers of our homeless population–statistical information that will prove increasingly crucial throughout 2026-2027 in securing state and federal funding for local programs that can help lift people from the cycles of poverty and homelessness.

To volunteer for the count or share specific information about places where homeless people can reliably be found or camped, please call Miranda Ortiz at 928-402-8699 or email mortiz@gilacountyaz.gov.
