Gila County Animal Care and Control is currently experiencing a temporary staffing shortage. At this time, we are operating with only three staff members covering all of Gila County. Our team remains dedicated to providing the best care possible for the animals in our facility, which includes daily cleaning, feeding, and exercise.
During this period, our response times may be longer than usual. Beginning today, we ask the public to be prepared to relocate any animal they set a trap for themselves, as we are temporarily suspending our relocation services.
We will continue to prioritize emergency and high-priority calls to ensure public and animal safety.
Please be aware that our Animal Care Facility may be closed during normal business hours while staff are responding to field calls or caring for animals. We recommend calling ahead to confirm that the facility is open before visiting.
If you need to renew your dog’s license, please take advantage of our online renewal service or renew by mail by sending your rabies certificate and fee to:

We will process mailed renewals as quickly as possible.
If you call our facility and there is no answer, please leave your name and phone number, and a staff member will return your call as soon as possible.
