Editorial: Joe and Donald

Column By Mike Bibb

“Today, we gather in a new year, some 246 years later, just one day before January 6th, a day forever shared in our memory because it was on that day that we nearly lost America — lost it all.”

Remarks by President Joe Biden at Montogomery County Community College, Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, on Jan 5, 2024

When I mentioned a short time ago Donald Trump could expect the next 10 months to be a constant barrage of Democrat slings and arrows, I didn’t realize they would begin their assaults a day or two before Trump was scheduled to hold two separate rallies in Iowa – on the same day, Jan. 6.

Can you imagine Joe Biden trying such a thing?  Yeah, me neither.  He’d be asleep after the first 27 minutes of the first rally.

Instead, President Joe opened 2024 with a speech on Jan. 5, from a nearby Valley Forge community college in which he referred to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol Hill protests as nearly being responsible for the destruction of our democracy.

Sure, it was, and the millions of illegal immigrants – pouring into our country at the rate of about 300,000 a month – is a positive thing?

Or, how about being $34 trillion in debt, and increasing an additional trillion dollars every three or four months – with annual interest payments approaching a trillion dollars a year?  That’s nothing to worry about?

Only if you’re the one who has to pay it back.

There have been an estimated eight million unlawful border crossers entering the country since the first day of Joe’s presidency nearly three years ago.

Realistically, a human wave invasion consisting of individuals from all over the world.

Of those eight million, about 1.5 million are “gotaways” – people we have no idea who they are, where they are, or what their intentions are.

Eight million is more than the population of many states – individually and collectively (including Arizona).

To make certain migrants enter unimpeded, Joe’s having his DOJ sue any state that tries to protect their borders and prevent the lawlessness.

Consequently, the numbers continue to grow, and the safety of our citizens slips some more.

Joe doesn’t want to talk about it, because he knows his administration is the motivating factor behind it.  Sort of a modern-day Trojan Horse tactic.

Which is par for the course.  He’s even prevented one of his Democrat/Independent competitors in next year’s election from having Secret Service protection.

“Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s third request for Secret Service protection has been denied, according to a letter obtained by the Deseret News.

“The letter, signed by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, says that USSS protection for Kennedy is “not warranted.” The letter’s veracity was confirmed Friday night by the Kennedy campaign.” – Deseret News, Dec. 22, 2023

Presently, Kennedy has garnered over a 20% favorability rating.  He’s now a major contender in the 2024 election.  Yet, not major enough to receive Secret Service protection from the Biden Administration.

Readers may recall Kennedy Jr.’s father was assassinated during a presidential campaign stop in California on June 6, 1968.  His uncle, President John F. Kennedy, was previously assassinated while riding in a presidential motorcade in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963.

Logically, considering Mr. Kennedy’s tragic family history, wouldn’t it seem appropriate and responsible, to allow Kennedy Secret Service protection for the remaining months of his 2024 campaign?

Joe doesn’t see it that way.  This seems a little strange since the Kennedy family are longtime Democrats, prominent in state and national politics.

So, in typical political diversionary fashion, Joe, and his team are compelled to focus the public’s attention on Trump and attack the only way they can – continue blaming him for the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol Hill protests.

That’s all they have.  They can’t point to a booming domestic economy, suitable foreign policies, strong borders, or offer solutions to calm an increasingly belligerent China and an unraveling Middle East.

Joe seems more concerned with rearranging his beach chairs, entertaining the LGBTQ community at the White House, and counting money from Hunter’s exploits in Europe and Asia than wasting time worrying about the protection and wellbeing of regular Americans.

To think, this is the same guy who promised – if elected in 2020 – he would be the “Great Uniter” bringing us together in peace, love, and harmony.

Well, somewhere along the way, that imaginary train careened off the tracks.  Maybe, in Palestine, Ohio.

Let’s face it, Joe’s nearly 50 years in Washington hasn’t produced a better statesman, honed leadership skills, or amplified his concern for the citizens.  He’s still the same corrupt, conniving, and incompetent dude he’s always been.

Only now, he’s in the spotlight where his flaws and defects are more noticeable.  Regardless of an infatuated media, which is continually dispatched to “clean up in aisle seven.”

Recognizing he doesn’t have a lock on the 2024 election – even within his own party – Joe has resorted to legal finagling to enhance his chances.

As a result, he’s weaponized the Department of Justice to go after Trump and others, he perceives as a danger to his reelection campaign, while ignoring the upheavals at the nation’s capital were merely an expression of the people’s discontent with the direction the country is headed.

The disturbances of Jan. 6, 2021, are only one of the excuses Joe used to deploy the DOJ to subdue Trump;  including refuting Trump’s claim of suspicious election results, and denying his authority to remove classified documents.

On the other hand, Joe doesn’t suffer from these problems.  His justice department sees nothing wrong with him pilfering secret records – when he was a senator – and amassing a tax-free fortune.

He’s not bothered by son Hunter’s documented foreign intrigues, ignoring Congressional subpoenas, or evidence pointing to Joe’s involvement in these financial capers.

Nor, does he seem overly concerned when his Secretary of Defense checks into a hospital for several days and neglects to tell Joe where he is.

“The Defense Department did not inform senior officials in the White House’s National Security Council of Austin’s hospitalization until Thursday — three days after he arrived at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, a U.S. official confirmed.” – NBC News, Jan. 6, 2024

Wait!  Two wars are going on and the president doesn’t know where his AWOL defense secretary is?

Is this some kind of “Who’s on first joke?” or just another disjointed day in the Biden Administration?

Good grief, think we all know the answer to that question.  There hasn’t been this much disorganization in the White House since the COVID confusion a couple of years ago.

Meanwhile, four separate indictments, amounting to 91 charges, have been unloaded on Trump.  This isn’t only an attempted Biden-sanctioned annihilation of an opposing candidate – it’s damn near a coordinated legal-type assassination — all done under the watchful eye of Joe’s DOJ.

However, despite Joe and the Dems basket of deplorable tricks, including trying to kick Trump off the election ballot in several states, it appears the more stunts they pull, the more foolish they look.

Predictably, this doesn’t prevent them from trying something else equally ridiculous.  As we’ve seen, Democrats tend to overplay their hand.

The next ten months will, most likely, produce a Democratic smorgasbord of contrived allegations, deceptions, hoaxes, and illusions designed to portray Trump as some kind of satanic demon, unleashed from the pits of Hell to destroy the United States.

Here’s a suggestion – just stick with the basic Adolph Hitler analogies.  People have grown used to them in the past seven years, and it sounds much more evil than the ordinary devil-in-disguise comparison.  Nothing new or inventive.  Besides, by now Joe shouldn’t have to glance at his cue card to remember it!
