Editorial: Is it flip-flop or flop-flip?

In her first weeks as a candidate, Harris’ most pronounced policy moves have been to back away from liberal stances she took in her failed 2020 bid for the White House, including proposals to ban fracking, establish a single-payer healthcare system, and decriminalize illegal border crossings. Harris dropped out of that heated race before a single vote had been cast but recognizes that voters now could punish her for those stances if not quickly addressed.”

Associated Press, Aug. 13, 2024.

As Kamala Harris’ Presidential campaign rolls along, it’s becoming apparent she’s flipped-flopped on several issues previously advocated.

Not entirely unexpected – being a devout liberal politician who feels free to change her opinions whenever it’s expedient to do so.

And, if necessary, change back again.

So, is this behavior called a “flip-flop” or a “flop-flip?”  Maybe, a “flip-flop-flip.”

If done several times I guess it could be referred to as a “flip-flop-flip, flop-flip-flop” or any combination thereof.

Perhaps, just “flipping.”

Or are they simply lies, voiced to appeal to listening audiences?

Although, we’ve learned it’s not politically correct to call a lie a lie.  Feelings could get hurt.

The proper word is “misstatement.”

Grandma and Grandpa may foolishly still think a lie is a lie but they’re old, misinformed, and haven’t changed with the times.  Besides, they still drive gas-powered cars and complain about the price of groceries.  A Green New Deal is a little extra in their monthly Social Security check.  How smart can they be?

Plus, unlike Kamalla, they haven’t been convinced our open borders are an overly intelligent thing to allow.  Gramps, a Vietnam vet, doesn’t get how millions of undocumented, unvetted, and uninvited foreign individuals can randomly enter our country, go wherever they please, cause mayhem and harm, and then complain about the living conditions.

Adding to the bogus claims column, it was recently disclosed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics that 818,000 fewer jobs were not reported by the Biden-Harris Administration.  In other words, they lied about the actual number of workers joining the workforce.

“Employers added 818,000 fewer jobs in the 12 months ended March 2024 than were originally reported, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said Wednesday. Job growth averaged 174,000 a month in the year that ended in March — a drop of 68,000 a month from the 242,000 jobs that were initially reported.” – CBS News, Aug. 21, 2024.

They overestimated it by about 35%.  Not bad accounting by the Dems.  Wonder if their math is equally skewed when tabulating ballots?

I get it – it’s an election year, and fudging the truth is an expected practice.  However, forgetting to report more than 800,000 fewer jobs – because it would make Joe and Kam look even more weaselly – goes way beyond a little white lie.

Don’t believe this discrepancy was mentioned during the Democrats’ big National Convention, either.

Slight oversight, I suppose.

The AP, along with numerous news organizations have noticed Kam’s tendency to go with the flow.  Just because she may insist she’s in favor of, or opposed to, certain political topics doesn’t necessarily mean she will have the same feelings in a week or two.

During her shortened 2024 Presidential campaign Harris has been all over the map in expressing opinions on various subjects.

Unfortunately, the brevity of her campaign, due to the sudden dismissal of Joe a month ago as the Dems primary Presidential candidate, has compelled the Harris team to fabricate a sort of make-shift platform in which anything, and everything, can be discussed, revised, added to or subtracted from to give the illusion of a politically seasoned group of people working together for the betterment of society.

Before becoming too consumed in pursuing an ultra-liberal political program, the Harris-Walz ticket may wish to consider some of America’s largest companies – Harley-Davidson, John Deere, Tractor Supply, Bud Light (Anheuser-Busch), Walmart, Jack Daniel’s, Target, Tesla, Home Depot, Wayfair – adverse reaction to government-influenced DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) because of customer backlash and loss of billions of dollars in revenue.

A dopy-looking transgendered social media dude acting like an equally dopy-looking girl, sitting in a bathtub sipping Bud Light beer just didn’t cut it for most folks.  Bud’s sales plummeted before some smart company executive finally figured out the commercials were causing more financial problems than they were worth.  Bud finally pulled the ads after losing an estimated $35 billion. – Newsmax Money, Aug. 23, 2024.

Proving at least two things:  Who in the Budweiser beer division approved the idiotic commercials and why?  And money still talks – especially in politics

I can also imagine the month-long LGBTQA+? White House celebration in June will no longer be a featured event in the Trump Administration.  Kamala and Tim may continue to embrace it.

If lying, omitting facts, altering social and business norms, offering false assurances and pampering corruption are necessary to accomplish the task, then that’s what will be included in the Dems agenda.

After all, no campaign stumps begin by raising the right hand and swearing to tell the truth.
