Column By Mike Bibb
Sometimes, I really have to think hard to figure out how Democrats are still calling Trump the “New Hitler,” while at the same time chanting “No Kings” during their street demonstrations.
The only conclusions I can come to are that the folks parading up and down the sidewalks with their Hitler and No Kings signs either have no idea who Adolph Hitler was and what he did, or what king they are talking about.
Even more bewildering, Trump’s supporters are referred to as “Nazi’s.” Which, I guess, would be about half the country’s voters.
Keep in mind, this is the same “Hitler” armed agents of Joe Biden’s FBI recklessly raided his home and worked tirelessly to imprison him for various fictitious felonies.
Turns out, it was all the Dems’ hallucinations and bogus charges.
Last time I checked, we fought and defeated Hitler’s war machine in World War II, and the Constitution doesn’t allow kings or titles of nobility.
Those who went to school before 1980 should know this and might recall that Adolph Hitler was a dictatorial maniac who nearly wrecked Europe, exterminated millions of Jews, and invaded western Russia.
Incidentally, this ruckus was going on before Trump was born.
So what, exactly, are these Hitler and No Kings protesters confused over? Hitler committed suicide in Berlin, Germany, 80 years ago, and the last king to exert his influence upon us was King George III of England in the 1770s.
Unless there’s been a Hitler clone fabricated in a lab somewhere and a King George III facsimile produced from a 3D printer, then all the commotion over Hitler and a king seems a bit silly.
Maybe, even moronic.
But, as long as we still have a 1st Amendment, people are entitled to protest whatever they please — no matter how ridiculous it may be.
If they wish to believe Trump is a modern version of Hitler, then that’s their prerogative. Or, there’s a king roaming around the wheat fields of Kansas; they can believe that, too.
Next week, President Trump might be characterized as the grown-up “New Chucky,” the villainous serial killer who’s run amok across America.
Protests do not necessarily have to make sense. Nor are logic and rational thought a prescribed ingredient.
Often ignorance and excited passions — and sometimes a few dollars — are all that’s necessary.
As a result, when driving past the “No Kings” protests this weekend, keep in mind the crews involved in these theatrical presentations are probably clueless about what they are actually opposed to, or the reasons behind their clamor.
Other than someone told them it was the thing to do because Donald Trump was really the Devil incarnate, aka Adolph Hitler, aka King George III, or any other demonic and tyrannical image you can imagine.
After a couple of hours, everyone will go home content with the realization they’ve exercised their Constitutional right to protest something they believed needed protesting.
Think I’ll protest the past week’s rainstorms — they messed up my plans to wash the car.
