THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College’s art department will host Lady Fangs, a solo exhibition by student artist Giana Estrada, Oct. 6–31, 2025, in the Activities Center lobby.

The exhibition will showcase Estrada’s bold and imaginative works, which draw on gothic and fantastical themes. Lady Fangs is her first solo exhibition, highlighting her growth and creative voice as a visual artist. A reception will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 5 – 7 p.m. in the Activities Center lobby. The event is free and open to the public. Guests will have an opportunity to meet Estrada, view her work, and enjoy refreshments.

EAC art professor Holt Brasher praised Estrada’s development and dedication.
“Giana first came into my classroom, shy but humble, ready to work, and eager to learn and create,” Brasher said. “Over the summer, she worked hard on the body of work that will be exhibited in this show, from paintings to digital prints, that expand on her unique aesthetic. Fangs, horns, weaponry, and more showcase her prowess in these various mediums, reflecting her interests in portraiture and tattooing. Her exhibition will show, not only the unique and interesting visual art being created on the EAC campus, but Giana’s own work ethic and unique visual identity in our community.”

Estrada said her work in Lady Fangs reflects her passion for storytelling through visual art.
“I wanted to create pieces that feel both haunting and empowering,” she said. “This exhibition is about embracing the darker side of beauty and showing that art can be both unsettling and inspiring.”

Estrada was born in Mesa but grew up in Safford with her mom and siblings. She first attended Eastern Arizona College right after high school, but left after a semester to work. After a few years, she felt unfulfilled and committed to returning to school to pursue an art degree.

She credits her professors—Brasher and graphic design professor Jeff Henley—with creating a supportive environment that has allowed her and her classmates to explore and grow.
“The art program is a nurturing space where students who may have always felt a little different find kindred spirits,” Estrada said. “It’s been a breeding ground for synergy and creativity.”

Estrada said she feels honored to present her first solo exhibition at EAC, even though the experience makes her a little nervous.
“I’m hopeful that attendees will feel enriched by the experience my art attempts to provide,” she said. “I want people to know it’s OK to be weird. Art has been a form of therapy for me, and this is my way of introducing myself to the community through what I create.”

Estrada plans to pursue a career as a tattoo artist and supplement her work with graphic design.
