SCOTTSDALE – The graduating fifth-grade class of the Pima charter school, Discovery Plus Academy, was treated to a memorable end-of-the-year field trip to Scottsdale on May 7 as they took flight with indoor skydiving at iFly at 9206 E. Talking Stick Way.

The fifth-grade class brought some siblings and parents along for the flight, and some brave teachers also took to the gravity-defying cylinder.

“There was an advertisement online that I saw, so I called, and then they were really great at explaining how you could bring your school, and so I jumped on board,” said DPA Principal DeeAnn Williams.

In addition to the flights, students received a science presentation on the aspects of flight and had lunch during a separate portion of the event.

“We thought this would be a good field trip for the end of the year, you know, do it up big because they are leaving,” Williams said. “Last year at DPA, so this was kind of our end-of-the-year fun for them.”

Discovery Plus Academy is a Kindergarten through fifth-grade charter elementary school located in Pima.
