CLIFTON – On Wednesday, a peaceful evening in Clifton turned into a nightmare for a couple when their fifth-wheel trailer was completely destroyed by a raging fire.
One resident was at work when the blaze broke out, leaving the other resident at home with their dog, Doc. A quick-thinking neighbor pounded on the door to warn him that the trailer — and the one next door — were already engulfed in flames. With no time to grab belongings or even change clothes, the resident escaped with only what he was wearing and managed to get their beloved dog to safety.
In just minutes, the couple lost their home and nearly everything they owned.
The fire left behind nothing but ashes where their fifth wheel once stood. While the pair does have insurance on the structure itself, it will not cover the replacement of personal belongings such as clothing, furniture, keepsakes, and daily essentials. The claims process is expected to take time, meaning the couple is currently facing the challenge of starting over from scratch with limited immediate resources.
This sudden loss is especially difficult as they work to rebuild their lives together. Essential items like clothes, household goods, and temporary housing support are now urgent needs while they navigate the aftermath and wait for insurance proceeds.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been launched to help support the couple during this incredibly trying time. Donations will directly assist with replacing necessities, clothing, and other items to help them get back on their feet.
If you’re able to contribute, even a small amount can make a meaningful difference. If a monetary gift isn’t possible right now, please consider sharing the fundraiser with your network to help spread the word. Every share, kind message, or donation is deeply appreciated as the couple begins the long recovery process.
This couple’s story is a stark reminder of how quickly life can change and how important community support becomes in moments of crisis. Their quick escape with Doc intact is something to be grateful for amid the loss, and now they face the road ahead with resilience and the hope that others will lend a hand.
