With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Connie Garcia, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Connie departed this world on March 20, 2026, at the age of 66, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will forever be cherished.
Connie was born on June 29, 1959, in Morenci, Arizona, to Ernesto and Olivia Garcia, who have preceded her in death. From a young age, Connie demonstrated a zest for life and a love for her community that would only grow with time. She graduated from Morenci High School in 1977, setting the stage for a life dedicated to helping and healing others.
After earning her degree in Occupational Therapy, Connie found her true calling in Myofascial Release Therapy. For over 25 years, she practiced as a Myofascial Release Therapist, specializing in the body’s fascial system. Her practice was more than a career; it was a ministry where she nurtured the body, mind, and spirit of her patients, making each feel uniquely valued and understood.
In 2002, Connie married the love of her life, Wade Dauenhauer, on May 6th. Together, they created a beautiful, blended family, raising four wonderful children: R. Rene Baca, Adam and Trini Baca, Erika Nunez, and Jamie Antillon. Connie’s heart was further filled with the joy of ten grandchildren—Christian, Cruz, Santiago, Santino, Olivia, and little Adam Baca, and step-grandchildren Damion and Zoe Nunez, Gideon and Eden Antillon—and the delight of one great-grandchild, Giselle Baca. Each family member carries a piece of Connie’s spirit within them, a testament to her nurturing love and unwavering support.
Connie was not only a healer but also an accomplished marathon runner. Her dedication and perseverance led her to run over 20 marathons, including the esteemed Phoenix City Marathon and the Boston City Marathon, embodying the ultimate competition for professional athletes. Running was her meditation time with the Lord, a testament to her discipline, and a reflection of her vibrant spirit.
Those who knew Connie will remember her as a woman whose presence was as comforting as it was inspiring. Her ability to listen, love, and impart wisdom resonated deeply with everyone she met. Connie’s kind spirit, full of grace and humor, left a lasting impact, making each person feel as if they were her best friend.
A celebration of Connie’s life will be held on April 17, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Manor House Events, located at 415 E. U.S. Highway 70, Safford, AZ 85546. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Casa Manana, Haralson’s Tire, and the Doug Newborn Law Firm for their generous support in making this gathering possible.
In honoring Connie’s memory, let us continue to embody her warmth, courage, and boundless love. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and strength that will inspire generations to come.
