GLENWOOD, NEW MEXICO — Everyone is invited to “A Tale of Two Tails,” a unique public event Friday, April 25, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Glenwood Community Park in Glenwood, New Mexico. The Two Tails — turkey and fish tails — represent some of the many popular outdoor sports in the Gila Wilderness.

Sponsored by Impact Outdoors and Outlaw RV, the event kicks off with a flag-raising ceremony honoring our service members, youth, and volunteers. A free dinner will include picnic fare like hot dogs and hamburgers. Members of the community will provide desserts.

Other activities include live music, a mechanical bull, and a bounce house. There will be exciting giveaways and a raffle for items, including a one-of-a-kind knife by Mustache Forge and a gun cabinet by Razwood.

Local biology and hunting experts will present and exhibit information about the rich history of Catron County, how Gila Wilderness biodiversity supports the wild turkey population, how to master your turkey call, turkey hunting tactics, and the terrestrial biology of the Gila.
