Most Profitable Gold-Making Methods in Patch 11.1

Herbalism and Mining

The concept here is super simple: pick up both Herbalism and Mining, farm herbs and ores, and sell them at the Auction House. Right now, with Patch 11.1 freshly released and Season 2 on the horizon, this never-failing gathering duo is especially lucrative. The demand for resources is sky-high, which means steady sales and reliable gold income for gatherers.

This method is also perfect for beginners who haven’t leveled their professions or Talent Trees yet. Unlike crafting, gathering requires zero investment—just farm and sell! And if you want to maximize efficiency, there are a bunch of handy items to boost your gathering sessions. For example, the Phial of Truesight increases Perception, allowing you to see hidden Mining and Herbalism nodes. Ironclaw Razorstone sharpens your professional tool and gives you a nice buff to Finesse. Weaver’s Prodigy Buff speeds up your gathering time, and Darkmoon Firewater boosts Deftness, letting you collect resources much faster.

Engineering Crafts

Engineering is making a solid profit in this patch, so if you have a character in this profession, you should definitely take advantage of it.

If you’re looking for consistent sales and steady income, focus on crafting Whimsical Wiring, Handful of Bismuth Bolts, and Gyrating Gear. These parts are in high demand, and high-rank crafts can easily go for 100-200 gold each. For higher-ticket but slower-selling items, toys are a good option. Barrel of Fireworks, Defective Escape Pod, or Filmless Camera can bring in nice profits, but keep in mind that they don’t sell instantly. To play it safe, don’t overcraft them at first—try listing a few and testing demand on different realms before increasing your supply.

Another great opportunity comes from the Undermine vehicle upgrades. You can now craft 22H Slicks wheels and sell them for around 5,000-10,000 gold, depending on your realm.

BoE Farm in The Heaps

With the latest patch, Blizzard significantly increased the item level of gear drops. Now, the lowest level for green items is 597, while blue BoEs drop at 603 level, which is a massive upgrade, especially for players gearing up their alts, and also a great way for gold-makers to profit.

You can farm BoEs pretty much anywhere—all your favorite farming spots will now drop gear with the updated ilvl since this change applies game-wide. However, if you’re looking for a hotspot in the new Undermine zone, you should definitely check out The Heaps. It’s an insanely good gold farm where mobs respawn super fast, dropping lots of BoEs and cloth, which can net you a nice sum at the Auction House. If you have an Inscription, you can also snag Darkmoon Decks and make some extra gold.

We have to warn you, though, that this farm is likely temporary because The Heaps is a questing zone, and Blizzard tends to nerf ultra-profitable spots in such areas to prevent gold farmers from interfering with questing players. So you better farm while you can!

Cartels’ Battle Pets

Patch 11.1 introduced a new Renown faction called The Cartels of Undermine. It’s a bit different from the others because, in addition to the standard Renown track, you also have the option to grind four separate reputations with different goblin cartels, which you can level up alongside the main faction. Each week, you’ll choose one cartel to align with, and the selection is Warband-bound, meaning that all of your alts can only grind reputation with the chosen cartel for the week.

The Renown rewards include currency, resources, professional recipes, gear, mounts, and more, but what we’re most interested in are the battle pets. When you reach Revered with each individual goblin cartel, you’ll unlock a battle pet and will be able to buy it for 6500 Resonance Crystals. Battle pets are always in high demand at the Auction House, and new ones are especially sought after, which gives you a great opportunity to make a solid profit. Focus on one cartel first to build that rep up fast, then try to acquire as many of these battle pets as you can. Once you have them, spread them out across as many servers as possible to reach a wide range of markets. Timing is very important here—if you’re one of the first to drop these pets on the Auction House, you’ll be able to sell them quickly and for a lot of gold.

Vehicle Parts

In the new zone, there are plenty of Rares-dropping vehicle parts that you can combine to create upgrades for your G-99 Breakneck. These parts can be sold at the Auction House, and killing the mobs that drop them will also grant you points for the Cartels of Undermine reputation.

Even though these parts are relatively easy to find, many players will likely prefer to just buy them instead of spending time grinding mobs. And this is where you can capitalize. It won’t be hard for you to take down a few Rares and get a decent stockpile of those car parts, which gives you a chance to earn that extra gold very easily.

However, you’ll need to act quickly. The best profits will come in the first few days of the patch when demand is highest. After that, the price of these parts will steadily drop, and within a couple of weeks, they may become so cheap that selling them at the Auction House won’t be worth it. So catch the moment while you can!
