ADOT to upgrade traffic signals in Safford over next two weeks

Law Enforcement to direct traffic during signal outage

SAFFORD — The city of Safford encourages motorists to be aware of work scheduled by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) on some of the area’s traffic signals. 

ADOT will upgrade the signal traffic cabinets at several intersections, starting with U.S. Highway 70 and 8th Avenue on Tuesday, May 6, and U.S. Highway 70 and 5th Avenue on Thursday, May 8. Both upgrades are scheduled to be performed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. During the outage, law enforcement will be on hand to direct traffic.

ADOT will continue the following week at the intersection of U.S. Highway 70 and 14th Avenue on Tuesday, May 13, and U.S. Highway 70 and 20th Avenue on Thursday, May 15, both are scheduled to occur between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
