SAFFORD — Non-profit and charitable organizations serving Safford residents can now apply for municipal financial support as the City of Safford has officially opened applications for its Fiscal Year 2027 grant program.
Approved organizations can receive awards of up to $20,000 per applicant per fiscal year, subject to a majority vote by the Safford City Council.
Award Eligibility & Grant Details
To qualify for funding, applying organizations must meet three core requirements:
- Provide services, programs, or activities that directly benefit the residents of Safford.
- Be officially chartered or incorporated through the Arizona Corporation Commission.
- Hold tax-exempt status recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
How to Apply
Eligible groups must complete the official application titled FY2027 City of Safford Charitable/Nonprofit Organization – Request for City Funds, accessible through the City of Safford website.
Along with the completed application form, organizations must assemble and submit a supporting documentation packet including:
- Transmittal Letter: Outlining the organization’s mission, its direct benefits to local residents, and the impact if city funding is not received.
- IRS Tax-Exemption Documentation: (Note: Organizations that previously received city funds during the current fiscal year only need to resubmit this if their status or information has changed).
- Board & Leadership Roster: A current list of principal officers and the Board of Directors.
- Financial Statements: The organization’s most recent financial report.
- Form W-9
Deadlines and Submission
All completed application packages must be delivered by Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, by 6 p.m.
