THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College will host an informational session Thursday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. in Room 118 of the Academic Programs Building for those interested in the College’s proposed Bachelor of Arts degrees in elementary and secondary education.
The programs will provide students a flexible way to earn a bachelor’s degree in education close to home, with tuition at a fraction of the cost of attending a university.
“We encourage anyone who has considered becoming a teacher to come visit with us and learn what these proposed degrees could mean for them,” said Susan Wood, EA vice president of academic and student affairs. “Most importantly, we want to hear from prospective students about how we can best meet their needs.”
During the session, EA will provide an overview of both proposed degree programs, including the anticipated timeline, approval process, student support, potential course delivery options, and next steps. Attendees will also have an opportunity to meet education faculty and ask questions about the programs.
As part of the session, attendees will be invited to share their preferences for course formats and schedules, including online, hybrid, evening, weekend, and other options that could make earning a bachelor’s degree more accessible while balancing work, family, and other responsibilities.
The informational session is open to anyone interested in becoming a teacher or learning more about EA’s proposed bachelor’s degrees in elementary and secondary education.
