SUPERIOR/MIAMI — Drivers traveling through the U.S. Highway 60 corridor can breathe a sigh of relief this week. The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) announced that the daytime road closures originally scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 16, and Thursday, Sept. 17, between Superior and Miami (mileposts 227–243) have been canceled.
The full closures were initially planned as part of the ongoing Queen Creek and Waterfall Canyon bridges replacement project. According to ADOT officials, no additional closures are scheduled right now.
While motorists will not face full highway shutdowns this Wednesday or Thursday, ADOT reminds drivers that work zone restrictions remain in effect. Travelers should anticipate standard lane restrictions, reduced speed limits, and a 12-foot vehicle width limit along the stretch. Oversize loads can be accommodated with advance notice.
Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time, slow down, and merge safely when approaching and traveling through work zones.
