GRAHAM COUNTY — A local woman faces multiple charges after a domestic disturbance call on Friday evening spiraled into self-inflicted injuries, damaged law enforcement property, and threats against officers.
Alli Lynn Plantz, 38, was booked into the Graham County Adult Detention Facility on charges of aggravated assault on a peace officer, criminal damage, and domestic violence disorderly conduct following her release from medical treatment.
According to police reports, deputies with the Graham County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Pima Police Department responded to a residence at approximately 7:48 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, following a 911 call from a juvenile inside the home. Dispatch advised that Plantz was intoxicated, arguing with a man, and had reportedly pushed one of her children.
Upon arrival, officers found the front door open and Plantz standing in the entryway. Responding officers reported that Plantz was belligerent, non-compliant, and attempted to slam the door shut, prompting officers to detain her in handcuffs for safety.
Inside the home, three juveniles were located locked in bedrooms and safely escorted outside to waiting officers.
While interviewing the children outside, officers heard loud banging coming from inside a patrol vehicle. Upon checking the vehicle, officers found Plantz repeatedly slamming her head against the interior security partition, resulting in a severe scalp laceration.
When officers opened the door to render medical aid and call for Lifeline paramedics, Plantz reportedly hurled verbal abuse and attempted to spit a mouthful of blood at a deputy’s face.
After paramedic personnel arrived to clean and treat her injuries, officers moved her handcuffs to the front to facilitate care. However, during transport to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center, Plantz became destructive inside the patrol unit, repeatedly smashing her hands into the plastic glass partition until it cracked.
Deputies were forced to pull over, re-handcuff Plantz behind her back, and transfer her into a Lifeline ambulance for transport, with a law enforcement escort riding alongside medical staff.
At the hospital, Plantz continued to act aggressively, reportedly threatening to stab and kill an officer. Due to her combative behavior, medical staff had to sedate her in order to safely perform a CT scan. Custody was subsequently turned over to jail personnel at the hospital before she was officially booked.
The incident occurred just days before Plantz was scheduled to begin serving a four-month prison sentence. Court records show Plantz had previously entered a plea agreement agreeing to plead guilty to Class 4 felony aggravated DUI stemming from a December 2025 incident, with a guaranteed probation term requiring four months in the Arizona Department of Corrections.
Plantz made her initial court appearance on Monday, Aug. 24, regarding the new charges.
