Safford Police Department Invites Community to Join 2026 Citizens Academy

SAFFORD — Local residents curious about the inner workings of law enforcement will soon have an opportunity to step inside the badge as the Safford Police Department opens registration for its 2026 Citizens Academy.

The six-week interactive program offers participants an exclusive, hands-on look into daily police operations. Attendees will gain behind-the-scenes insight into patrol procedures, criminal investigations, special response tactics, and other specialized facets of local policing.

Academy Schedule & Details

  • Dates: Tuesday evenings, Sept. 1 through Oct. 6, 2026
  • Time: 6 – 9 p.m.
  • Location: Safford Police Department

Department officials emphasize that the program is designed to build stronger connections between officers and community members and offer a unique perspective on law enforcement in Graham County.

Registration Information

Space in the academy is limited. Community members interested in attending must RSVP by Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026.
