SAFFORD — The Graham County Chamber of Commerce has announced the hiring of Matt Valderrama-Svee as its new Team Assistant. In the role, Matt will support daily chamber operations, member services, event logistics, and organizational coordination across multiple chamber initiatives.
According to Chamber Executive Director Vance Bryce, “The position plays a critical role in helping maintain communication, organization, and operational support for the chamber’s growing programs, events, and member benefits.
Matt brings experience in logistics, operations management, and organizational systems through his professional background with Freeport-McMoRan, the United States Army, and multiple community and professional organizations. His resume includes experience in supply chain coordination, inventory systems, facilities oversight, event support, and process improvement.
Most recently, Matt Valderrama-Svee served as a Materials Planning Specialist for Freeport-McMoRan in Morenci, where he supported operational materials planning and helped improve service efficiency across multiple departments. He also currently serves as section secretary for the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration Gila Valley Section, helping coordinate meetings, procurement, and networking events.
Valderrama-Svee has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain Operations Management from Western Governors University and graduate certificates in operational excellence, business data analytics, and solutions design thinking.
The Graham County Chamber of Commerce serves businesses and communities across the Gila Valley through membership, leadership, and tourism programs.
