GILA COUNTY – Gila County is celebrating National County Government Month (NCGM) in April to showcase how the county supports residents and builds healthy, safe, and vibrant communities.

“Gila County is proud of the programs and services we provide to our residents, and we are shedding light on these opportunities and resources in the hopes of strengthening the connection between our county government and the local community,” said Board Chairman Steve Christensen. “The nation is celebrating 250 years of independence this year, and Gila County and all the other counties have a long and rich history of serving residents.”

Since 1991, the National Association of Counties (NACo) has encouraged counties nationwide to raise public awareness of county roles, responsibilities, and services during April. NCGM is an opportunity to tell the county’s story and highlight how county government serves residents every day.
