SAFFORD – The Graham County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the creation of a new honor, the Leadership Award, recognizing an individual who exemplifies outstanding leadership and has made a meaningful, lasting impact on the quality of life in the Gila Valley.
The inaugural Leadership Award was presented to Representative Gail Griffin in recognition of her expertise in the legislative process, her high-quality representation of Gila Valley residents, and her steadfast service to the community.
Representative Griffin has long been a respected advocate for rural Arizona, bringing experience, diligence, and a deep understanding of policy to issues affecting Graham County and the surrounding region. Her leadership has helped ensure that the voices of Gila Valley residents are heard at the state level and translated into effective representation.
“The Leadership Award was created to honor individuals whose service rises above position or title and truly strengthens our community,” said Tommy Snodderly, Chair of Gila Valley Leadership. “Representative Griffin’s consistent commitment to this region and her ability to navigate complex legislative issues on behalf of our residents make her a fitting and deserving inaugural recipient.”
The award was formally presented to Representative Griffin by Keith Alexander of Eastern Arizona College at a Chamber Mixer in Phoenix on Wednesday. The art piece was handcrafted by Gila Valley resident Mike Ochoa.
