THATCHER – Looking for some fresh veggies?
The Borderlands’ Produce On Wheels With-Out Waste (POWWOW) event will be Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Home Depot in Thatcher at 750 S. 20th Ave. from 8 – 11 a.m., or until supplies last.

For a $15 cash donation, attendees receive an up to 70-pound box of produce. This event operates as a farmer’s market, which means you will park when you arrive and get in line. Volunteers will let you know how many of each item you can grab. People will be there to help you get your box to the car. No substitutions are allowed; however, at a farmer’s market-style event, you can opt out of taking items.
Items included in the box at the Thatcher event on Nov. 1 include mini watermelon, white pumpkins, Acorn squash, split black beans, Italian squash, yellow squash, English cucumber, eggplant, orange bell pepper, cherry tomato, and beef tomato.
Cash donations on Saturday are first-come, first-served. If you want a box waiting for you, you can RSVP for it by making an online donation.
