SAFFORD – Coming Thursday, Oct. 16, at Safford City Hall, the seventh annual Give from the Heart hotdog and nacho sale will fill patrons’ bellies with delicious treats while helping some of our community’s most in need.

The event will take place at Safford City Hall on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include the sale of $2 hot dogs, $3 nachos, and $1 sodas.

All funds will benefit the Give from the Heart program, which helps city residents 62 and older who meet an income threshold pay their monthly utility bills. The program is 100% funded by donations.

According to Safford Assistant City Manager Eric Bejarano, last year’s event raised $2,802.66, compared to roughly $1,300 the year before that.

“This is a great program for the community, helping support our elderly with their utility bills,” Bejarano previously told the Gila Herald.

So, save the date of Oct. 16 in your calendar and mark it as having hot dogs and nachos for lunch at Safford City Hall to help make a difference in the lives of our neighbors while being rewarded with a delectable, affordable lunch.
