GRAHAM COUNTY – Due to Hurricane Lorena, tropical moisture is anticipated in southern Arizona. Starting Friday and continuing into Saturday, scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely.
Because of possible flooding, Graham County has sand and sandbags available to self-fill (limit 5) at the Fairgrounds in the parking lot north of the Agriculture Building.
For Safford residents, sand is ready for use west of the City Mesa Yard Office Complex (405 W. Discovery Park Blvd).
City of Safford residents can pick up 5 free sandbags per household at the Public Works Office (220 Discovery Park Blvd), Monday through Thursday, 6 AM–4 PM.
