GRAHAM COUNTY – Kenneth Howard was arrested and booked into the Graham County Adult Detention Facility on DUI charges on July 8 after reportedly crashing his truck into a ditch while impaired.
The Graham County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at about 2 a.m. to the scene in the area of Montierth Lane and U.S. Highway 70 regarding a silver Nissan Titan that had crashed in a ditch. According to a Sheriff’s Office report, the truck had gone over train tracks south of the Silver Creek Mobile Home Park and into a ditch.
Upon arrival, Howard was located in the driver’s seat and showed signs of intoxication. Howard allegedly stated he had been westbound on Highway 70 when he crashed, but was unable to say where he was coming from.
An Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper then took over the investigation and booked Howard into jail.
SPD arrests DUI driver in Highway 70 collision

The driver of a blue, 2019 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck that crossed the centerline on U.S. Highway 70 in eastern Safford and struck an Empire Service work truck on July 2 has been arrested for DUI as well.
Cari Ann Reycraft, of Mesa, was eastbound in her pickup truck when she drifted into the opposite lane and struck a white Ford heavy-duty commercial Empire Service truck.

U.S. Highway 70 was closed for just more than two hours due to the crash, and Reycraft had to be extricated by the Safford Fire Department and treated at Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center for her injuries. The driver of the Empire Service truck reported no injuries.
