Safford Police continue to seek public’s assistance regarding shot calf

SAFFORD – The Safford Police Department continues to request assistance from the public regarding the fatal shooting of a calf near Blue Ponds on Saturday, June 14. 

The incident occurred behind Daley Estates at Pond #2 between 6 and 9:20 a.m. An Arizona livestock inspector and Graham County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to the scene after a report of the injured animal and began investigating the shooting. 

The suspects remain unidentified, and the Safford Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying them. Investigators believe that several individuals were fishing at Pond #3 during the time of the incident, who may have seen or heard something relevant. 

“We’re asking anyone who may have been in the area or who has any information to come forward,” said SPD Detective Josh McClain.
