GRAHAM COUNTY—Pima, Solomon, and Duncan Elementary Schools are offering Kindergarten Summer Camps for children who will be 5 by Aug. 31. Sessions will be held from Monday through Thursday from 9 to 11:30 a.m., with each school following a unique schedule. Solomon Elementary will be held from June 2 to 12, Pima Elementary from June 9 to 19, and Duncan Elementary from June 23 to July 3.
The program is free. Snacks will be served. Parents are asked to call the school or stop by the office to register their child.
The camp aims to ensure that all children enter school ready to succeed. Kindergarten teachers will offer fun learning activities that strengthen early literacy and math skills. Most of all, the children will become familiar with their new teacher, new friends, and the school campus. Parents will be asked to participate in some of the activities during the 8-day program and receive a kit with educational materials for their children during the summer.
This program is sponsored by the Graham and Greenlee County School Superintendent’s Offices in partnership with The First Things First Graham/Greenlee Region and funded through the generosity of the Arizona Community Foundation of the Gila Valley.
