Deputies had visited a residence off N. Marylees Lane at about 8:30 a.m. to serve a warrant for Skip Edward Bauer on a probation violation of misconduct involving weapons. After searching the residence without locating Bauer, deputies searched the surrounding area without success.

Just when the deputies were set to leave, they were advised of a male dressed in black hiding in the bushes behind the CTI Trucking property.

At that point, K9 Officer Kukui was deployed, and as the dog went in the direction of the suspect, a fresh set of tracks were discovered. The deputies then followed Kukui as he went through the thick underbrush to where Bauer was hiding.

A small hatchet was located in Bauer’s possession, but he was taken into custody without further incident and booked into jail on his warrant.
